Birthday Card

Well it's time for some up-dates. Will be posting the 9/11 Ride images this weekend, along with this years winners at the State Fair photo competition.

Just a thought: My parents are the types that everyone loves, they think they are funny, down to earth, and just great people. Well I guess as one of their three boys, I think that they are funny, they certainly keep me laughing from a distance, they are down to earth, sometimes to far down and they are good people. Strangely they have never really asked about my job, life or my interests, they are the type that talk but never listen. I have never in 47 years really have had an insightful conversation with either of them. So how come when I received a birthday card from Mom, I had to read it 3 times to get it, and wipe away the tears that she made appear with a card that someone else had written. I have never been one to buy cards for any occasion, it just does not seem right to spend 4bucks to have someone else tell the ones you love how you feel about them. I would much rather hear someone say hey Asshole I love you, come here and give me a damn hug, then to read some bull that Mister Hallmark wrote. Well, here's what the card had to say.

Happy Birthday Son,
You were born to be one of a kind...
Since the day you were born,
we knew you would grow up to be someone special
Who could have imagined that your love for life
and genuine compassion for others would touch so many lives.

Well Mr. Hallmark thank you for introducing my parents to a side of me that I never thought they saw.
